Bayfield has 370 acres of mixed woodland including some of the most important ancient woodland sites in East Anglia. Hull Wood is so named because it provided one Hull for the Elizabethan Navy.  The timber is now used to heat the Hall and a large complex of converted agricultural buildings, in the form of Wood Chip.
